SAHERO Beginner/Intermediate Band will start a new semester on
January 18th! We welcome all levels of abilities! You need to
provide your own instrument and will need ot purchase the band
instrument music book. Tuition is $10 0 for the semester. We will

SA-HERO will be having a planning session for the 4th Annual
Roundup on January 24th, 6:30 pm at La Madeline. This conference
gathers all San Antonio area homeschool support groups and
education related organizations in one place for "one stop
shopping." We have a variety of seminars for parents and art
activities and demonstrations for children. This is a family
conference where children are admitted free! This year, we are
focusing on creating a teen program for the conference. If you

You will explore minerals, rocks and soils and their formation (with
a bit of chemistry for older students), landforms and other
geology topics. You will take home 15 – 20 rock and mineral
specimens, streak plates, plaster `fossils' and more. You
will be hiking to view geological features in the park and
there may be some dirt involved!

The San Antonio Wave Home School group is open to all ages and
grade levels. The group trains together as one, however the
workouts are structured to accomodate the variety of ages and
ability. We strive to help San Antonio Home Schoolers fulfill
their PE requirement, while becoming water safe and having fun at
the same time. The group trains at the Alamo Heights High School
(6900 Broadway), Monday thru Friday at 1:00 pm. The AHHS
Natatorium is a clean and spacious indoor facility. Home School
swimmers may compete on the weekends with the Wave team, if

The Prefreshman Engineering Program (PREP), founded by Dr.
Manuel Berriozábal in 1979, identifies achieving middle and high
school students with an interest in science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM), and provides an academic curriculum
to increase their potential for careers in these areas.
San Antonio PREP 2007 is scheduled for June 11 through July 27,
2007, and expects to be held at the University of Texas at San
Antonio (Main and Downtown campuses), St. Philip's College, Palo
Alto College, Northwest Vista College, San Antonio College,
University of the Incarnate Word, Our Lady of the Lake University,
Northeast College, and St. Mary's University.
The application 2007 SAPREP is January 31, 2007. First-time
applicants between 6th and 10th grade, interested in applying for
the SAPREP 2007 session, should contact their school counselor, or
call the SAPREP Central Office at (210) 458-2060 to request a

L.I.F.E. will be having new family registration on Tuesday,
January 16th by appointment. We are currently meeting at the St.
Francis Episcopal Church located off IH 10 and Wurzbach Rd. at
4242 Bluemel Rd. in San Antonio, Texas 78240.
We have a variety of classes for K3-12th
grade. We are a homeschooling co-operative which offers academic,
supplemental, as well as elective classes. We have certified and
degreed teachers, as well as parents who are gifted and talented
in different areas, who offer both free and fee classes.

Know someone in a band? Need an excuse to talk to someone in a
band? youth(wired) is looking for teen bands to perform at the 6th
Annual Spring Break Teen Band Event scheduled to take place during
Spring Break on Wednesday, March 14 in the auditorium of the
Central Library. Metal, Goth, Blues, R&B and Rap—we want it all.
The number of bands we can host is limited. Members of the bands
